Design substantiation is something we take very seriously at
Breakell engineering.
We can provide design substantiation in the form of calculation and finite element analysis (FEA).
Components designed are analysed for strength and suitability using FEA simulation software in order to optimise the design, the material used and determine failure modes within a components working life.
Advantages of using FEA throughout the design process such as determining the performance & safety of any design prior to manufacture, Identifyingand resolve design faults early help to minimise the cost of materials & maximise product performance.
FEA as part of the design validation also makes the complexity of component shape possible. By enabling the analysis of complex shapes within model geometry FEA helps to reduce development costs.
Components can also be analysed for fatigue failure, should a component need to have specific life constraints. Using results from an FEA study and specific material property data a fatigue life prediction may be obtained to further aid the validation of a product.
